The internet has become for many of us the ultimate tool to work with and we don‘t realize how important it really is until we are without it. This week I have been completely blocked off from the internet due to a theft of a major telephone connection cable that connected my highly secure and guarded village to the rest of the world. The thief left off with 100 feet of this 50.000 USD cable at 2am in the morning when I was just about to finish my work day.
In the five days it took the telephone company to re-hook all these homes back to the network I had the most miserable time. I found out that most of my work is so integrated with the internet that I was basically not able to do anything, all the software that I use, the blogs I write, the updates to my websites, the image cataloging, affiliate management are among the few tasks that I have been unable to do and have set myself back a week or so in work. The most important like affiliate payments I did by taking my laptop down to the local Starbucks since as we all know we can‘t screw that one up.
